Our Norwegian inventor set out to rethink and improve how shower water is delivered and how to extract the maximum effect from the volume of water used. Showerheads to date have remained similar to the very earliest design where water is delivered through many individual holes / sieve plate to create a shower stream of many individual threads and jets. Using the basic rational that the purpose of taking a shower is always to get wet, plentifully and rapidly wet, it was deduced that prehaps the rose / sieve plate standard shower head type was not maximizing the volume of water used.
The innovation behind the Nordic Shower leading performance is termed a turbine vane. This allows it to uniquely harness the physics of water and manipulate the surface tension of the water droplet to maximize wetting and rinsing properties. As with most groundbreaking innovations, the resulting output form closely resembles a natural process, a cloud burst repeated many many times per second. ( See we studied the rain ).
A good and comfortable shower experience requires an optimal blend of the key performance elements ; skin impact pressure, coverage and temperature retention. The real advancement of the Nordic Shower is to achieve a proven leading performance without requiring high volumes or aeration or the venturi effect or jet streaming the water flow. To determine how effective the Nordic Shower was against both standard and other eco shower modes, a performance comparison was carried out at the Norwegian Building Research Institute. Performance test results found the Nordic Shower to achieve a comfort coefficient 22% greater than the next best showerhead technique. Another interesting finding was that Nordic Showers showering performance @ 9 litre per min equals a standard showerhead @ 19 litres per min.
Nordic Showers are the only source of this technology.
